Pepe Kalle Tribute my version

Now this is my chance to show my own version of how to show your love for Pepe Kalle.

Youtube
Maybe you can make a major playist of your favorite Pepe Kalle moments where you can organize them together and you are able to show your friends or family who want to see your ability to show how great Pepe Kalle was.

Ipad
Or if you really love your Ipad, you can organize songs you like from Pepe Kalle and add to your list in IPad and be able to find some way to share it. Also you can create a great design on your cover showing a pictue of Pepe Kalle with that when you start playing his songs.

Festival
Well one thing I think could make Pepe Kalle look great is by creating a big festival concert where they will be some greatly trained musicians to sing some great Pepe Kalle songs. I would put a great picture of Pepe Kalle in a creative way and show the greatness and the importance of Pepe Kalle. There you can have great foods and have t-shirts of this man. Also bring some Empire Bakuba musicians to come and sing along and sing some known Pepe Kalle songs to the whole audience.

This is my vision how to show your love for Pepe Kalle.

Sincerely,

Franco Pepe Kalle

Dear Franco,

Franco you are a great musician. You were a true Congolese musician. You were a musician who understood others and wanted the best in every musician. Most musician envied you because you knew life so much. You were wiser than your age. Musicians like Papa Wemba, Tabu Ley, Pepe Kalle, Nyoka Longo, and Bokelo were never able to be like you. You were a figure that had something that those five did not have. You were so real. You spoke the truth even when it was not a popular opinion. You did songs that caused a real discussion not only in Congo but within the whole Africa continent. You changed the face of Congolese music. You were the only musician that was able to really real authentic Congolese music that is so unique. You are the reason why Congolese music became unique. You were the one who brought the uniqueness of a musician. You had humor but you were a real man. Franco, you are not replaceable. Rest in Peace.

Sincerely,

FrancoPepe Kalle

My personal experience with BEER & WINE

I am so sorry to everyone for not making a post lately. It has been while since I made a post but I had some things going on. I am going a deep growth with college and as usual, Facebook things going on and being on other forums. So I had little time for posting. Now I am back. I had some unfortunate events during this time too.

One of them is drinking two alcohol types which are already bad enough. They are Beer and Wine. There is no one at fault. I have only myself to blame. I have had stories about how these two drinks are so bad and yet I decide to take these two shit. It was so bad. So what happened was that a week ago, I went to a person's house. I was asked to drink some Red Wine. I said yes and the worst occurred. I had also had some beer that day too. The result was so bad. I knew right away that I was drunk. I mean I was inclined to sleep more and I was inclined to move more than I usually did. Also let me add, my ribs were totally fucked up and also my voice was bad for a week. The results were bad for me being drunk.

My opinion of Alocohol is that is the worst thing that can happen. I may drink this drink occassionally but I know if I do then I will end up messed up for some time. I think Alcohol can cause some great harm. It really can.

Well here some startling facts
Source (http://about-alcoholism-facts.com/)
  • Although 40 percent of U.S. college freshmen say they binge drink -- five or more drinks on one occasion -- a new study has discovered that up to 20 percent of male students go substantially beyond the binge-drinking threshold, consuming more than 10 or 15 drinks per drinking session.
  • Up to 80 percent of alcoholics have a deficiency in thiamine and some of these individuals will go on to develop serious brain disorders such as Wernicke–Korsakoff syndrome.
  • Alcohol dependence and alcohol abuse cost the United States an estimated $220 billion in 2005. This dollar amount was more than the cost associated with cancer ($196 billion) and obesity ($133 billion).
  • Every year in the U.S. more than 150,000 college students develop health problem that are alcohol-related.
  • The 9.6% of adult alcoholics drink 25% of the alcohol that is consumed by all adult drinkers.
  • Every day in the United States more than 13,000 children and teens take their first drink.
  • According to recent research, 62% of U.S. high school seniors reported that they have been drunk recently.
  • According to a study undertaken in 2002, at least 762,000 children that are born each year have been exposed to alcohol during the mother's pregnancy.
  • Alcohol is the third leading cause of preventable deaths in the United States.
  • 3 million Americans over the age of 60 are alcoholics or have serious drinking problems.
  • 3.1 million Americans, roughly 1.4% of the population 12 and older, received treatment for alcoholism and alcohol-related problems in 1997.

  • These facts are quite startling. I think I will leave it up to you to judge whether Alcohol is good. I think you have heard enough of me. FOR NOW.

I apologize to all followers for not writing for a while. I have been so busy caught with school work, and Facebook constant messages, I had little time to write some great posts.

Well this week and around next week, I am going to try to expand my genres of music that I can enjoy a lot as a music lover myself. African music, I favor Congolese a lot and then I like some East Rumba and West African occassionally but I have now decided to give some Zimbabwe rumba after a person showed me a song by a Zimbabwe rumba band. It was so excellent. I found the song to just sound like Congolese with a Zimbabwe voice. It is quite interesting in my view.

I am going on a Zimbabwe Rumba crusade. I want to do this because I have got some Zimbabwe friends and I feel I need to do the favor by hearing some of their own music so I can showcase how cool their music can be too.

I will post some of the best Zimbabwe Rumba songs I have found. You will enjoy it.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. I hope everyone enjoy a safe and great weekend a good thanksgiving weekend.

To give you guys a great treat. Here it is.

I found a great song Zimbabwe song from a Rumba group name Jairos Jiri Band. They made a very entertaining song that was so great in many ways.

Their great song that they made was called Sarah. I know this song is a love song although I am not sure what they are saying but regardless but I am impressed with their singing. Also they were really into their music and I could see thier great passion. It also gave me the vibe that they enjoyed making this song that they did.

They had a great sebene and they managed to entertain me with their amateur acts. I am impressed with this band.

Here is the song Sarah from Jairos Jiri Band.

resurface of PEPE KALLE for wrong reasons now

Forgive me for not writing a post for weeks. I have been finishing college first semester, and occassional facebook drama as well as forums conversations.

These days it seems that Pepe Kalle has gotten some attention but now it is for wrong reasons.

It has been that Pepe Kalle has been used for all the wrong causes.

There are two videos I have found that deal with PEPE KALLE.

This video is Jolie Bebe speaking about Pepe Kalle and Empire Bakuba. She gets into the history of Empire Bakuba and Pepe Kalle but then gets into the problems within Bakuba and wants to basically pretend that she, Djouna, and some others are more Pepe Kalle like than Papy Tex and shit like that.
    Just hear the rest

But this video makes me more mad as this oppurtinist bitch pastor basically accusses Pepe Kalle wanting to put devil spells on people when Pepe Kalle only made people dance. That is all. This man is just a oppurtunist who is not serving God but serving Money. Money is all this bitch wants. This bastard is so messed up. He just wants to make himself look like a saint. I bet he has shit that he does not want to speak about.

Pepe Kalle has been insulted for a long time by many people as they pretend they are more Pepe Kalle than others or that Pepe Kalle was satan himself. Now I have evidence from these videos that Pepe Kalle is just getting hurt.

Empire Bakuba is just a divided camp with no soul anymore. If Empire Bakuba exists (which apparently is not the case), then it is led by Papy Tex. Djouna Mumbafu has his own group but he has no musicians. Doris Ebuya lives in Switzerland with some random musicians, or at least that he told me himself. Elvis Kunku is living in Paris with a band doing some good old music. Elvis Kunku is married to a woman who is the boss of Africambiance. Again, I will not say her name. Papy Tex lives in Germany seemingly just doing some occassional performance. Jolie Bebe and Dekolos are doing their own thing all around Europe. I mean none of these guys care about the fact that they are demeaning the name of Pepe Kalle so much.

I just want to do something. Pepe Kalle has been insulted enough, and If I see this again, I will just call them out as I see fit. So sad that Pepe Kalle has been gone from this earth for 14 years and see people trying to make money of his name. Such a ashame.

If there is one song that I have been unable to get out of my freakin head is a great rumba from a country. No it is not either Kenya, Congo, Tanzania, or even Cameroon at that matter. In fact the country this song comes from the country Zimbabwe.

Well the band I am speaking about is called the Real Sounds of Africa. Thanks to Soukousman, I had discovered them a little bit. This band is not your average band. In fact there is some connection from Congo. Some of the musicians of Real Sounds of Africa were actually from Congo but grew or came to Zimbabwe. They teamed up with some Zimbabwe musicians to form this band Real Sounds of Africa.

The congolese members of this band were Motombo, Mumba, Pompon, Ilunga, and Kabange.

Here they make a song that I am addicted to. The song I am speaking about is the song WENDE ZAKO. This song is so incredible. We had some great singing and some good guitars and of course great trumpets and some smooth saxophone. I love this song a lot in my view. It is classic. Enjoy the song

We have a great album or LP from two legendary musicians that have ever came in Congo and the whole great Africa. Well I am speaking of two singers who once grace the time. I am talking about Mr. Madilu Bialu System "Grand Ninja" and Mr. Nyboma Canta "Canto". These two singers are in my opinion one of the greatest singers in their generation.

The interesting about these two men are that they were part of the new wave of Congolese. It was that it began with former OK Jazz saxophonist and former Veve leader Verckys. He began getting some youth talent around the Kinshasa music scene. This new wave would eventually include people like Nyboma, Madilu, Nzaya Nzayadio, Nyoka Longo, Evoloko, Bozi Boziana, Papa Wemba, Pepe Kalle, and some others.

However during the 1970s, Nyboma had a lot of success and Madilu at the other end was just another name. Nyboma was in bands like Bella Bella, Lipua Lipua, and Les Kamale just making gold. Madilu had a good band in Bakuba Mayopi but that went nowhere and then tried a failed band Pamba Pamba with Bella Bella's own Soki Vangu.Nyboma managed to make great songs like Andoya, Mbuta, and others to think of. Madilu at the other end had one memorable song called Pamba Pamba and that was about it.

But in the 1980s in my opinion, Madilu had more fame than Nyboma. According to some music historians, Nyboma had began to be lost with going to West Africa with the band African All Stars. Nyboma tried to remake Les Kamale but that was so shortlived. Nyboma only got a revival in my view in his career when he joined 4 Etoiles with Syran Mbenza, Bopol and former OK Jazz singer Wuta Mayi. Madilu would find his own star when he sang the song NON with Grand Maitre Franco in 1983. From there, Madilu became the front man of OK Jazz. He made impact on songs like Pesa Position, Mamou, Mario, and Boma Ngai, Ngai na Boma Yo To Bomana. In addition, Madilu introduced a dance which in my view should never came in the first place. That was the dance Mayeno. This dance was first heard of Boma Ngai, Ngai na Boma Yo To Bomana which happened to have Franco on it and I don't think this dance suited Franco well. This dance eventually consumed OK Jazz and even Franco got himself into this dance as well. This dance became pretty official after Franco died in 1989.

Now all the history and opinion of mine cross intot this great LP. This Lp that I am into is called Stop Feu Rouge. This LP is a absolute masterpiece of course with the dance Mayeno which apparently became very popular, no longer just in OK Jazz but almost everyone felt this dance. But the song it begins with is the song Stop Feu Rouge which I notice the best Afrisa singer Pompon Kuleta. His voice was felt as well as Nyboma, and Aime Kiwakana. I mean the song just gets you to the beat especially Nyboma and Madilu voices consume you. Then comes the song Magali which I love because Madilu just commands that song. It is a great rumba song with some important passion. I love it very much and I think others should hear this beautiful song. We deal with Keva which belongs to Nyboma because he once again, his soft and important voice in this song and with Dally Kimoko playing his guitar, we got something unique. In my opinion, the best song of this LP is KEVA.

However the song that was partially responsible for the legend of Madilu was the song Voison. Why this song as oppose to Magali. Well it is because this song has Madilu commanding the song and the dance Mayeno. Actually this song, my parents love to death. This song just brings you joy with the voice of Madilu because he is able to maintain his great vocals but also be serious. Of course, we have a little entertainment of Odette. That is so funny to me. I like this song too but not like my parents. TRUST ME. This song is the one I would definitely recommend to more older people like my parents.

This was the first time that actually Nyboma and Madilu though they have been close friends for some time. But after this masterpiece LP, on almost every Madilu work, Nyboma was involved. In one Kekele Cd with Nyboma, there was a song with Madilu. I argue that if this LP never occurred, I doubt Nyboma and Madilu would ever sang together. Just my opinion.

I am so sorry to the blog followers for a six month absence that I have had. This is so unusual for me to do. But now I have to explain situations that led to this.

    College work
    Family issues
    Family conflict
Trying to work during the summer
    Social issues (nothing new)
Addiction to the reality show MOB WIVES
Addiction to the reality show HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY
Closing of Vibes D'Afrique (SO SAD)
    Addiction to Facebook
    Resolve issues of mine

These are the basic reasons that I have not been able to really write a post that has some connections. I have been in a hard emotional state of life. Too much shit going on. Well it is summer time, I am happy that I can be my normal self for once.

But I will only do 4 posts since I may take some long ass job soon. But they will be good. After August, I may have to take a 1-4 month break from blogging as college work will become more demanding in the near future.

PS, I will be back for now. I am so happy now to be back here for some time.

    REMMY ONGALA

I am so happy to back. Last month was so complicated with so much going on. I had issues going on with my family. In addition, many issues surrounding with me as well as I am entering a awkward phases of becoming an adult. I am entering my second year as a college student. I am confident that I will do. I had a lot of things to get done to get college started soon.

Anyway enough of my rambling shits, let's get started on what I have been enjoying a lot. The music of the Congolese born and Tanzania musical legend REMMY ONGALA. Yes this Remmy Ongala. Remmy Ongala a great musician who spoke for the most unpriviligized people in the world.

I don't have a great biography on him and I don't know everything but I know enough to know he was a person with a great heart.

He was born in 1947 from Kivu, DRC Congo. He grew up with any parental guidance. He was 7 years old when his parents had passed away. Remmy struggled to be able to maintain his own living. So he ended up playing for local bands around the area Kisangani. That is also where he started learning guitar as well. He was so inspired by the music of Franco. That is the main reason he wanted to play guitar (or that what he likely stated in a 1989 interview). Then he joined the band led by Asso Tshimanga named Orchestre Makassy which was a East African Rumba band that mostly sang in Lingala. They were located in Tanzania. He started to learn how to deal with music and things of that nature. He was also was alongside with great genius Mose Sengo alias Mose Fan Fan. But when the band decided to relocate to Kenya, Remmy remained in Tanzania to make a new band. That band would called Orchestre Super Matmilia. This band would the band Remmy Ongala would use for his upcoming stardom.

That all started in 1983 when he released some songs which included Mnyonge Hana Haki, Pesa, and Kipenda Roho. These songs gave important boost towards the career of Remmy Ongala. He was going in the right direction with his ability to relate the not so privileged people and poor people. As result of this, some people called "DOCTOR" because he was able to help heal poor and not so privileged people.

Remmy Ongala would begin to grow his base and he began to make love songs but make very conscious songs. The later songs were part of Remmy's movement in which he nicknamed BONGO BEAT. He started this movement on his 1988 acclaimed LP "On Stage with Remmy Ongala". This Lp has been considered by some as Remmy's best music ever his whole life. For good reason, there are some songs including one I really like. They include Sauti ya Mnyonge, Kifo, Asili ya Muziki, and Narudi ya Nyumbani. Those songs sent Remmy on another level with his star. Really some people would began to enjoy the music of Remmy. I think around this time, he had officially became a Tanzania citizen. But thanks to the success of Remmy, some people were knocking doors (well Western companies). As result in 1990, Remmy released his remixed songs which had Sauti ya Mnyonge, Kifo, Carola, and others which had some even more popularity and this time Womad label got Remmy in their label.

Now we enter the 1992 up to the 1996 period. He released Mambo in 1992 which helps create the global star of Remmy Ongala. However some Tanzanians start not to like him because he was now getting liked by some westerners. However, Remmy had liked of songs like Niseme Nini, rendition of Narudi Nyumbani, and No Money No Life. People enjoyed those songs a lot. Remmy Ongala now was creating a bigger legend and more people wanted a piece of Remmy Ongala. Then in 1995, Remmy Ongala released the popular work "THE KERSHAW SESSIONS" which it contains songs like Bongo Beat, Libala, Penzi Lauwa, and Kilio Cha Samaki. In this work, he actually a little more Lingala than he would do in general.

Now that Remmy Ongala had become a great legend, Remmy decided to do a film called BONGO BEAT. This was done in 1996. It was a huge success in which got into the mind and the life of Remmy Ongala and how it was like for him to go from a common poor man to a successful musical legend.

After that, Remmy Ongala had finally been able to enjoy his success and he was able to now know that he became a big legend. His legend even led Tanzania to be able to have county named after him.

But Remmy's life took a bad turn in 2001 when he got partially paralyzed which led to him becoming somewhat sick. By 2006, he officially became a Christian and even became a preacher. But when he got sicker, he fully sang for God. He got honored around 2009 with a reward for having the desire to help the poor. It was said that Remmy said that he is a Christian but he wants to really help the poor and don't care about money that but seeing others get well. He died in December 13, 2010 in Tanzania.

Now some people why Remmy Ongala died. I could be wrong but I do not think I will be. Here is my theory on Remmy's later life.

One thing from Bongo Beat, it was known that Remmy Ongala was a lover of Beer mainly and clearly some people disliked. It is also has something to do with Remmy's disdain for westerners. Though Remmy had worked with the British led label (western label) WOMAD and married a white woman named Toni, Remmy did not exactly cared for the Westerners which also explains Remmy had still lived in Tanzania as opposed to Great Britian. See many African artists would move to Europe or USA to try to make great money and avoid political hell that came being with a African artist. But Remmy did not get that memo or cared much about that. In addition, one song may have led to Remmy's death. That song was Kilio Cha Samaki on the film "BONGO BEAT" in which he blames religion (well two main religions). He points the fingers at Europeans and Arabic people for oppressing. Remmy claimed that Africans were too nice to those people for too long and allowed them to oppress not only with force but with religion as well. He condemned Christianity and Muslim religion because he says Europeans and Arabics were using as tools to distract Africans and harm them as well. Some say that was the mentally of Patrice Lumumba. More importantly after 1996, Remmy was not really seen anymore. He became sick and converted to Christianity.

This is likely the same theory with his idol Franco who is known as Grand Maitre. Franco was also not so westerner loving fan ever. In fact Franco reportedly thought James Brown was a total piece of shit. Franco also did similar things by speaking of uniting Congo and have the line "Congo aux Congolais". This angered some westerners and as result, they decided to poison Franco with some accomplices especially associated with sorcery which is related to witchcraft. Franco also said the Westerner artists are chicken pots and were so narrow minded. In fact Franco went Muslim to anger westerners which he named himself ABOUBACAR SIDDIKH for a political statement which may also to a poison. Franco's refusal to really fit the Western market and not live in Europe may have led to Franco's demise. More importantly, he only started living in Belgium when he was frail and sick.

Regardless, Franco and Remmy Ongala were great musicians and I will forever love their music and for what they did to try to advance AFRICA.

Man I could not see this coming even with a old artist like this man. This man has had problems in the past and he had great troubles prior to his unfortunate death.

Well I am speaking about the death and unpextated one from Likinga Redo. He was 59 years old when he died. He died on August 8, 2013. This death stunned and I just could not believe it. I found this out from former Zaiko Langa Langa singer Adamo Ekula

Well let me speak on this great Artist Mr. Likinga Redo. I know that this man began his music career with Empire Bakuba led by Pepe Kalle (who is no longer here). Likinga would appear in songs like Calvaire, and Montesse. Then in 1976, he officially became a memeber of Zaiko Langa Langa. This time he sang with Nyoka Longo, Lenga Lenga (Ya Lengos), and Bimi Ombale. They made some great songs and being able to produce some dynamic dances. Likinga Redo produced one song that was popular for him. That song is Viya. This song got Likinga Redo in a unique place. He was beginning to develop his own identity. Zaiko was starting to become a important band alongside Empire Bakuba de Pepe Kalle.

Likinga Redo was said to a drug habit and clearly some one was not happy about it. After he releasd his other song Antalia, he got caught with drugs in Portugal in 1983. This led to his arrest and as result he was in jail for five years.

Likinga Redo got a tribute song while he was in jail. That was his old friend Pepe Kalle. He made the tribute Souci ya Likinga. This song became pretty popular around the Kinshasa scene in 1986.

Redo got out of jail in 1988 to join Zaiko Familia Dei de Pablo. But he did last there long. Then Likinga Redo had really became a session singer releasing a few albums. But Likinga Redo was not the same and despite making great music, people seemed to have enough of Likinga and he had became a shadow of himself.

Then in 2002, he worked with former Empire Bakuba mate Papy Tex on their work together called Mon Bebe. This would be Likinga's last music before he went fully into Christian music. That could be seen with Soeur Lumumba around the 2006 period. After that, Redo had privately lived his life.

It was said that Likinga Redo had suffered dementia-disease for five months before his unfortunate death. Strange for me, because Likinga had indicated some time ago, he was ready to get his life back on his own Facebook. Of course, Likinga died on August 8, 2013.

It is ashame that he is gone and I will forever miss him. His music will live on.

Rest in peace Vieux Likinga Redo

Does BIYA CHANTE equal PEPE KALLE

I have a question that has entered my mind. Now as many know here, I am a fanatic of Franco and Pepe Kalle. Pepe Kalle died on November 28, 1998 and ironically just two days later, he would have been 47 years old. He was born today. He was born a Kinshasa boy of I believe about 12 to 15 siblings in his family. It is also believed that Pepe Kalle himself had about 12 children. I know one of them lives in France. Few live in Europe.

Pepe Kalle was a great singer and he was able to sing and make everyone touched. He touched some few young people that now love his music to death. I am one of them. I am a fanatic of his. I love his music very often. From 1970s up to his death. He always knew how to hit you with a unique song. He sang with Nyboma, Papy Tex, Papa Wemba, Dilu Dilumona, Soki Vangu, and others. It is just unique for me. I really love his music and remain a major fan of his for a long time.

    PEPE KALLE
    BIYA CHANTE

But let's get into what I am going to ask. One person claims he is more like Pepe Kalle than anyone else. Guess who? If you think Biya Chante, you are right. He may have a point. Well not long ago, he declared to the whole Congolese music lover community that every time you see him, you see Pepe Kalle. Now some people were happy he made that statement but others said he crossed the line.

Here is my opinion on this. While I agree that Biya Chante is not a superstar like Pepe but here is Biya has a great point. Listen, Pepe Kalle and Biya Chante sound so similiar. In fact, there were moments I thought that was Pepe when it was actually Biya Chante himself. Of course Dilu Dilumona and Pepe Kalle sound similiar but it is much easier to see the difference. Dilu is too monolithic in my opinion and kind of boring. In addition, Pepe Kalle hired Biya Chante for a reason because Biya sounded much more like him than Dilu ever did in his life. Furthermore, Biya Chante in a sense was a better singer than Pepe in the sense where his voice was much soulful than Pepe himself.

Pepe Kalle was a more smooth singer. His voice always had a tendency to smooth. So even if someone sounded like him, they could sing with him since Pepe was very smooth. Look at instance Defao. Many argue that Defao and Pepe Kalle sound too much alike. However, Defao has much more force in his voice. As result, Defao and Pepe Kalle could sing together in a choir. Song I am referring is to Luciyana.

But Biya Chante was a more soul singer. His voice was deep and very sexy. I mean I have never seen a Congolese singer have so much of a soulful voice. I mean Biya Chante voice is so deep that you wonder why he is singing and is giving his voice. I mean when Biya Chante does Pepe Kalle songs, he can make it his own. That speaks volume on Biya's voice itself. It is just too great.

Yes Biya Chante does equal Pepe Kalle when it pertains to voice.

Here is the video of my reference of my opinion post on here what would have been Pepe Kalle's 62nd birthday.

Man I cannot believe this is just happened. Just when we saw what would have been the 62nd birthday of Pepe Kalle, we lose another great singer of Congolese music. That is Tabu Ley. Yep Tabu Ley. He is dead. He was 73 years old. My heart just aches for his family and others who deeply appreciated and loved Tabu Ley.

Here is one connection between me and Tabu Ley. When my dad lived in Kinshasa, he actually met Tabu Ley in 1987. My dad told me that he was attending a political meeting when he met Tabu Ley. My dad could not believe it and inside he was so shell shocked. He even said hello Mr. Seigner Rochereau. Rochereau responded with a nod. Typical Tabu Ley. kiekiekie. Just too much ego.

Although I believe Franco is better than Tabu Ley. Tabu Ley had one thing that Franco only wished he had was a beautiful voice. Franco's voice was often shitty and not that great although there were moments where he was fantastic with his solo vocals. That was hardly with Tabu Ley. Rochereau's voice was so poetic and it brought some birds to your belly. It was quite interesting if you ask me. That was the case with his songs like Kaful Malay, Mace, Sarah, Tu as dit que, Muzina, Exil-Ley, Tempelo and others. It made Rochereau a great legend.

Franco and Tabu Ley were smart to work together. They made one song that stood out to me as a Congolese music listener. That song is Ngungi. That song made something magical occur. Their voices together made a moment that many will never forget. I am so into this song. It is a beauty song that I can never get enough of.

Tabu Ley will be missed. Tabu Ley you just rest in peace.

I am so happy that we enter 2014. I am happy to once again post for you guys to enjoy some comments from me and yours truly Franco Pepe Kalle.

You wonder why I have not been posting. It is because I have had a rough and busy year in 2013 dealing with lots of issues and spent a bit too much time doing Facebook and finding myself watching too much reality TV. And my college life had kicked in a lot.

But luckily right now, I am bit less crazed with things. Now I get a chance to give you a new year.

I am hopeful that I can give you some posts.

Soon I will get started on the Madilu train soon enough. Enjoy your day. I will post soon.

I am so happy about posting this great LP where we have two great stars of the generation new wave for us. I am speaking about two TPOK Jazz grand singers name Josky Kiambukuta and Madilu System. They produced a masterpiece where they would get some stardom success with their lp called DESTIN. This Lp would bring for these two stars for us to enjoy.

Let me get started with the song Erreur Personelle. This song was so good with the voice of Josky Kiambukuta. I mean you could feel the spirit of Josky ability to sound smooth and yet graceful with his voice. Also, you have Madilu and Josky sounding perfect together. Also it had the blast of Rigo Star and it was able to make the completetion of the great song.

Then we get to the great song Sincerete by Josky Kiambukuta also. He was the man behind the great song. He was very passionate in this song and he was able to provide some valuable entertainment for us. More importantly the sebene was so banging and it got some skill of Rigo Star who was doing his magic on the guitars and bass. Man I got boose bumps hearing the guitars of Rigo Star.

The song that got me some goosebumps which is the song Pierre. Madilu System actually gives us a reason to want to listen to his songs. His voice in this song is very passionate and seems to enjoy singing this song. Josky and Madilu just put their voices into some beautiful melody. It was something that was so worth hearing as a music listener.

Let's get into the song that officially made the begin of the legend of Madilu System La Grand Ninja. I am speaking about the song Biya. In fact this song is the one song that made the legend of Madilu System. In fact this song got so much popularity during the late 1980s and early 1990s. Heck he even redid this song on his third solo album Sans Commentaire. That is how significant this song is.

I  think people should hear this LP. I love this LP and it is total classic.

    Kester Emeneya gone

I was working on my college work and trying to finish up a post when I found the news that I did not want to hear and want to be so true. This news just completely disgusts me dearly.

It is the day that we can announce that Congolese singer Kester Emeneya has died. He was one great moment for the band Viva La Musica which is owned by Papa Wemba. When Kester Emeneya and Papa Wemba were together, they were able to produce some great songs together and their choir together was great and you could not deny their greatness together.

Kester Emeneya started his own group around 1982 when he formed the group Victoria Elesien. This band is where Kester Emeneya as we know became known to everyone. He managed to make memorable songs and make some great grounds with his songs.

What is sad is that part of the reason of Kester's death was because the death of Tabu Ley when he was already deeply sick. Clearly Rochereau's death had a major impact on King Kester and it was said that he did not take the news well. This was a major part of that further made Kester's health much worse.

Kester Emeneya lived a great life as a singer and he was actually planning to build a house that he could make so he could have a better opportunity to make music in the near future. Some people of course were not happy at all hearing but I found to be a good thing. He was planning to get help from people from Washington DC.

Regardless, it is terrible that we are beginning in 2014 with some terrible tragedy in African music. It is so unofrtunate that we lost one great Congolese artist and African artist. It is so sad. My hearts goes to his family and friends. RIP Kester Emeneya.

    Sex with condoms

Man I have had a rough time with my life today. My college life has gone rough and man I gotten scrutiny and I have been criticized for just giving opinions on simple issues that can unite us. It is interesting that when I mind my own business then I get scorned but when I give a opinion on anything then I get called names as well.

One topic that I can speak here is women I admit that I get very nervous  about seeing very sexy ladies and I tend to say sexual words and phrases to describe them. I get scorned for not caring to see a sexy woman. I wonder the fuck why? It is not like I want to fuck this woman. I am not saying that i wanto see the woman naked. I am not saying I want a woman to enjot taking advantage of the woman. I want to get one that I can love. A woman that if married can make love with. The on ethat I can secure, help, and support to make things better. It is important that I get a woman that I can be capatable with.

But there is a topic that I actually want to discuss legitametely about. This topic has effects on the black community since it is the black history month and it happens to be around the time of Valentine's day. I am speaking of one topic which is what. It is the topic called Sex with Condoms.

Why speak about this topic? There are several valid reasons about this. First of all, it is said that black women in US are the ones with the most STDS (although it can be debatable). Also, there is a heavy stigma about being a virgin and it seemed wrong to not have sex before marriage. In the bible, it is likely a sin because it can ruin a relationship but in our society, many people very much disagree. Finally, there is pressure on certain people (like black man) to have sex and sex as much as possible. It is sad but it the reality about the sex in our country America but it is also true around the world.

Charts showing the percentage of people in Africa with Aids

One bad place of effect is Africa. But obviously sex is not really promoted in the way it is in America. Africa has many issues and one of them being aids. Sex is not the only reason although it is a important reason for this issue. I would say Omar Pene says that aids is the problem and the poision of our society. Youssou N'Dour wants young people to understand the power of sex. If you have aids, Mwzakali Mbuli would like you to have hope no matter that there is a God in this wicked world. We have the word Sima which is usually Lingala for behind but that is probably known by artists like Tama. Who could be one the giving aids. Could be Baraka like the song by Hamid Baurodi. Or could be music from Luo guy Ayub Ogada with his spiritual mix of 10 percent. Also add some fire collect of firewood like Bernard Kabanda. Marysm Mursal made some great points under not shame yourself one bit. Also, Taso Choir wants you to know that there is forgiveness from God and look to him for forgiveness of aid. However a band like Zawose and Brook say bedbug bites terribly. Man that is a scary thing huh. Imagine you lose a person that you actually love as Papa Wemba says. I mean Papa Wemba means he can't imagine you dying. We need then to sing the song Heaven is my home if you believe that there is by Imbizo. Man that is going to be a serious outgoing song. Use a sound of the drummers of Burundi to do something unique. What is the damn solution to sex. Wait a minute. It should be. Yes the socks. Yep socks. Socks meaning condoms. Remmy Ongala says that sex is like soccer except two people together. A man and a woman together in a room with no one watching. He say get a CONDOM (SOCKS). That what he says is the solution. Get a condoms so you can be able to have at least real appropriate sex. Yes I guess that is one way. Ohh life is so hard.

My advice to people especially youth including myself by the way, if I want sex. We need to have condoms in our body. So no std, no aids, or pregnancy results from it.

    My take on Evoloko JOKER

Lately I have seen so much shit and great stuff happening all around the same time. Hot girls, Great college work, Nice Technical work, and others have consumed my time. I apologize but that has been lately my situation so I have not really had the chance to make a post.

But also add that my first young brother is about graduate from high school and my family and I are already clashing about what songs that we are going to play for his graduation and what type of music pacifically we are going to play. Also it will be combined with me and my sister time for celebration. Boy this will be fun. Supposedly.

But one reason of clashing is that my parents really want to only and exclusively Congolese music but I know my young brother does not really play that music like I do and I told him to ask him what he wants. But they also really want to play Congolese music that they really enjoy themselves. They really do not want East African music. Not even sensible ones like Simba Wanyika, Remmy Ongala, and Orchestre Makassy. Interesting huh. My dad wants this big man that I don't care for myself.

This is the man that my dad actually likes dearly as well his fellow old colleagues. So sad. huh. Well if you figure the picture above that is the person I am about ramble about. But this is all my opinion. NO ONE ELSE. OYOKA NGAI. MELESI BANINGA NA NGAI.

I am speaking about the man man Evoloko Lay better known as Evoloko Jocker or Joker, what the fully hell you prefer. The man who is a interesting character and lots of people who know Congolese music historically, love to discuss this guy like he was or is the best thing that has happened in Congolese music. And I know some people already know that I don't exactly listen to Evoloko. Well here is my opinion.

I think Evoloko is one of the most overrated DRC musicians that I ever heard. Yes I said. He was totally overrated and overlooked and people made a big mistake thinking that Evoloko was going to be one the biggest names in Zaire. That never happened. I don't give a rats about him. There are many reasons. Evoloko inability to consistently be a good performer and have real charisma. Evoloko slept with several women. It is one thing but when it is young girls. He was accused with sleeping with a 13 year old back in 2008. Also, Evoloko tries too hard to make himself look bigger than HE ACTUALLY IS. A bigger character than he is reality.

But the real reason for me not caring for him is really music. I know all musicians in Zaire have so much shit in their lives. But many at least put their issues as ways to make legendary music. But Evoloko, it is not even close. First of all, his songs (well most) are at well but not much special. Second, his alcoholism really did him no favor and fucked up his voice very often. Give me a break, when I hear people tell me he is the best singer. Really? REALLY. BEST SINGER. First of all, his voice is irrating and annoying and it can seen as just noise.

He was a great tragedy and he was totally overrated. He was unable to rise his star and he fell so terribly. Life is unique. Evoloko was not that great at the beginning. The only and probable reason is that Evoloko was a great entertainer and he was able to make splash animations. Those are the things that made the popularity of Evoloko. Sadly he ruined his star with nonsense activities and undisciplined activities.

Unfortunately, we will never what would happen if Evoloko had become a big star. Probably Papa Wemba, Defao, Bozi Boziana, and Pepe Kalle would probably not that important. Who knows. Regardless Evoloko is one sad story.

Mayeno, oh Mayeno Mayeno is, Mayeno will be, what is about Mayeno

Hello my fellow people. I am sorry, I had posts ready before my college courses demanded more of my time. I have had led little opportunities of doing some good posts. Also I have been debate with friends and family whether to start getting money from this blog. I don't want to because I don't need to do that. I want to be everyone else and work. Who knows. At least not know. I don't want to do it now.

Another thing in my way is one of my brother has a graduation party tomorrow and it is not going great. We cannot agree on anything. My brother wants his mostly western songs and my parents want no English speaking songs or English songs that are so lame. Worse my parents are obsessed with one particular style of music. This makes me the middle person because I had to decide. I put more this style that I would have like to.

Now what does the second part have anything to do with the post. It is very related. In fact this conflict leads to the post that I am going to touch. What my parents will want at this party is the dance that is a dance. It is the dance that was a clear alternative to Kwasa Kwasa. It was not from Afrisa. It comes from OK Jazz. That dance became Mayeno. Who popularized the dance. I am speaking of Madilu System. Mayeno is a dance that is pretty known in the area of Matadi full of Bakongo Congolese folks. But the dance was not known around Congo up until 1986 when Madilu officially launched this dance as a attempt to counter Empire Bakuba's Kwasa Kwasa. This dance is the one that my parents really want to play more than necessarily at a party. My brother does not give one living shit about Mayeno.

    Madilu

Here is my actual opinion on the dance Mayeno. I actually do like the dance Mayeno very much. It has its good and bad.

Let me do the bad first
    - It was more soukous music
    - It was nothing really related to OK Jazz
    - It was a OK Jazz version of Kwasa Kwasa
    - It had quite sexual elements (often more perverted than Empire Bakuba's Kwasa Kwasa)
    - It was a less dirty version of Zaiko Langa Langa's dance "Etutana, Yango Na Yango"
    - Often it had unnecessary noises
    - It fulfilled the great narcissism that is Madilu System
    - It became too centered around Madilu
    - It poisoned the original OK Jazz odemba music that made Franco such a legend (case in example Franco's great classic Les Rumeurs was done in Mayeno dance).
    - It was the contributing factor behind the division in OK Jazz since it was essentially Madilu's dance.

    benefits
    - It made the legend of Madilu System
    - It gave OK Jazz to attract young people who were wanting the music of Pepe Kalle
    - It gave Kwasa Kwasa dance its run for money
    - It was a traditional dance becoming mainstream
    - It made people move in many ways that were not possible
    - Madilu knew how to make great lines especially with just MAYENO
    - It gave Madilu more attention
    - It helped OK Jazz have some success during the early 1990s before its demise
    - It made people recognise the importance of Madilu
    - It remake the emphasis of the diversity in the OK Jazz music
    - Madilu was able to get Pepe Kalle to notice him
    - Madilu had the ability to always redo the style and sounds of Mayeno

As you can notice I see the good and bad of this dance. This dance was known in Matadi community. Madilu was a great dance. He created a dance that has been popularized. Since Madilu never had his due early in his career, he was able to become a genius for this great dance. Mayeno gives people a chance to enjoy the dance and see how they feel about this dance. As I said, Mayeno is one dance that some Congolese will definitely remember.

What do you think about Mayeno.

    Simaro's unknown CD: Shako

I have a opportunity to give you something to enjoy during the summer. This is a good time for me.

I am speaking of the album by the genius poet himself Simaro Lutumba. This album is called Shako. But this album is unique because this album has two combinations. Let focus on the last four songs before I go into the two songs.

I am going on the other four other songs that come from the Simaro and TPOK Jazz album. This is work from OK Jazz likely from 1988-89 period because we hear the voice of Malage de Lugendo. I also hear the voice of Djo Mpoyi, Josky Kiambukuta, and Madilu System. This work I don't believe involve any rhythm guitar of Simaro Lutumba himself. It is said that these four songs have no composition from Simaro. The songs that I am talking about are Eliana, Nakosenga, Kiwelelele, and Toweli.  Three of those songs give you the idea of the dance Mayeno and Djo Mpoyi was the important man because he was all apparent in all four songs. Notice also there are more studio musicians than OK Jazz musicians. I see some composers are Al Zimbi bass man and Do Akongo the rhythm man. So that is the idea behind. Regardless, it is known that Franco had no part of this project since he was not well and was mostly residing in Belgium.

Now let's get into the two songs that Simaro ACTUALLY was part of. I am talking two songs. They are Shako and Tshitshi. Shako is a interesting song because it premiers the voice of the woman Natalie who would participate in some Bana OK songs until 2001. Her voice is jolly and enjoyable. She was able to capture some youth sound out of her. That is a good song. It also includes Mr. Elba A formerly of Youlou Mabiala's group Kamikaze and LokombeThen comes Tshitshi. This song is just a genius because the strong voice of Ndombe Opetum. His voice is amazing and they are able to sound perfect. His strong voice with others are able to the song so strong. That is definition of real music and not the junk that we are used to every day. But the bands are different. Shako was definitely with Bana OK since Elba A is totally audible. The second song was with TPOK Jazz. The guitar sounds like it and more importantly, I think the unreconginsible voice with the other man and Ndombe is Madilu System. Since Madilu was never in Bana OK, then it must be OK Jazz.

This is one of the best work for Simaro. It is a genius work. People should get this album as soon as they have a chance.
