Franco 76 birthday

I am happy to say that it is time for to say Happy Birthday for my first idol name Franco

Franco was a artist for all Africans. He made sure that he could have his music accessed to the world but particularly Africa. It was important for him because he had great confidence. Franco was responsible for the great formation for Rumba Odemba Congolese music but also Rumba as a genre as a whole. For example, some East African musicians most notably Musa Juma who sadly passed away in 2009. Ironically Juma is a partial Congolese so it helps a little bit. He was a able to deliver great music for his fans and many of his fans say Musa Juma is the closet thing to Franco

In the would have been 76th birthday of Franco, he made one important thing. It is that Franco was a true Pan African artist. He was someone who was for the change of lives. His songs deliver the idea of hope that one day, Africa will become a big continent for this rotten world that we live in today. Franco made sure that he left a great foot in this world. And he did. That is the reason why I want to say if Franco was alive, he would have been 76 years old.

Happy Birthday Franco. Rest in peace. We the fans will never forget your story.

Joe Arroyo tribute

Welcome to my blog today as a I am going to make a tribute to one great artist. Not from Africa or America although those are the things I am familiar with. I am doing a artist from South America area.

I am speaking of one artist that I have grown to love and enjoy his music. I am speaking of Joe Arroyo. He has had a rich history making great influence in his country Colombia. Colombian music was big with Joe Arroyo involved.

Joe Arroyo had humble beginnings. He was discovered by a person name Julio. He ended up in the group called Fruko y sus Tesos. He would perform with this band for 10 years.

But in 1981, Joe Arroyo left that to begin his solo career and had his back group known as La Verdad which means The truth.

From there, Joe Arroyo would release so many classic songs like Rebelión","La noche""Tania", "El Ausente""En Barranquilla me Quedo", "Musa", "Bam Bam" and many others. Joe Arroyo would be a big artist in Colombia in 1980s and 1990s.

But as always every artist has their downfall. For Arroyo it was beginning after 2000. He was often not well health wise and often he would not show up at shows. Some people alleged this was due to his possible smoking habits he had when he was younger. Despite he was still making some good music and his fans remained loyal to him. In fact in a few months before his death, Joe Arroyo was doing some heavy shows for his fans. He died on July 26, 2011.

Joe Arroyo was a artist that was actually pretty international while still sticking to his sound. He managed to mix Salsa music with cumbla, porro, soca, compas, and zouk with other African sounds together. Which makes sense since some of his songs sound Congolese to me.

When I have been listening to Joe Arroyo, I feel like I am listening to a Congolese musician with a different sound and language.

Joe Arroyo is one artist that left a mark in his country and throughout South America. It is incredible that I did not listen to his music a young child and I am glad to say that I know some of his music and he has impressed me a lot. I enjoy his music. His music has increased my interest in salsa music. Though I prefer African and American music more but I can enjoy some Salsa music. One man that I like the most out of all them is Joe Arroyo.

Rip Joe Arroyo.

Before I start on anything, I want to say happy birthday to Dizzy Mandjeku.

Here is a song with his presence known

It is a song that I cannot get enough of.

Now my fans have been wondering why I have not been posting. Actually lately I have been working a lot since I don't have school yet back, so I have been working and I have been trying to revamp a social life that I never cared for. Furthermore, I have to do so many things and watch my Facebooks so closely.

Actually while I have been working, I encounter a person well I mean a woman who notices that I sing one song of my idol (second one) Pepe Kalle.

She asks me who I am. I told her I am a Congolese American and I was born in Nebraska. I told her also I am a big fan of Pepe Kalle and I listen to African music often and American music sometimes. I also told her that I am 21 years old. I am a very young man. I have been in Minnesota for 14 years. I have lived around the Twin Cities in Minnesota. Now it comes to her, this is where things get interesting.

Her name is Judith. She says that she was born in Ivory Coast. She says that she was major gospel singer in her group. I am not sure of the name. Anyway, she says that she did lots of gospel at her church back in Ivory Coast. She says she has a college degree. Due to her gospel life, she actually to got to travel a lot. She went to Europe such as France and Italy. She came to USA in 2012. She indicated that she had lived in New Jersey. New Jersey is known to have some French speaking people as well as New York with heavy community of Haitian descendant people. She came to Minnesota afterwards. She is trying to get her foot as a American now. I told her good luck.

She told me that she even had a song on YouTube. In fact she is telling the truth. Here is the song that I ended up hearing.

I am quite impressed. Actually she sounds great in this song. If you believe in God and want to hear this, please do so.

This is a interesting time for me. Really interesting for me.

Soon, I will do some posts on Madilu.

Hello fans. I apologize. I have not made a post for a while. Actually it has been four months since I have done a post. Actually my college life has been killing my time. My popularity on Facebook has not allowed me to make a real post here to make sense. Next semester in my college career, I could be working and it may lead to less time for this blog. Also I will take French classes. That does not help.

Enough of that. Actually I am going to touch a subject that I did not really want to do but doing anyway.

As you guys are aware, I am a fanatic of Franco and Pepe Kalle. I love their music and stories because I am fascinated by them.

The Grand Maitre himself

As you are aware that Franco was a controversial but a great musical talent. In my opinion, Franco was the first king of Congolese Music. I mean Modern Congolese Music. Not the original Congolese of Grand Kalle. Grand Kalle was in his own league. I have no interest of comparing Grand Kalle and Franco. Franco was in the modern group. Franco was the one who Odemba Congolese Music.

But his personal could be controversial. He had a younger and only brother. His name can be identified as Bavon Marie Marie
He looked very happy on this picture

I am not really to talk too much about Bavon Marie Marie as they are so many stories about him. Life and death alike. I will say this. He was a younger brother of Franco. He joined Orchestre Negro Success in 1964 when the group was stinking after the departure of Vicky Longomba who left the band in 1962 to rejoin Franco and his OK Jazz. Actually it was said that Bavon wanted to pair with Tabu Ley but Franco never allowed that to even be possible. He died in 1970 after a car accident. His fiance never quite recovered.

Here comes I discover.

Franco has at least (I mean at least 19 children). But he only had one boy. His name is Yves Emongo Luambo. He resides in Kinshasa and Brussels.
Here is Yves Luambo himself

Bavon Marie Marie actually has a child as well. The mother I believe probably is the fiance. I am not sure. But he does have a son. In fact he is his own person. Here is the son.
His name is Bavon Aime Siongo.

So basically I am aware of these two men in life now. As a Franco fan, this is interesting and important to hear. As for how did I find out. It actually came from a older woman who knew the fiance of Bavon. Won't say here name. But here her words

Bomoni mme Bavon oyo asalaki naye accident

English translation of her words
U SEE THIS IS THE PERSON WHO HAD ACCIDENT WITH BAVON ON THE DAY BAVON DIED: M.JOSE SIMPLICE. JUST LEFT US 2 WKS AGO. THIS HOW IT HAPPENED:BAVON WAS JELOUS OVER THIS WOMAN,THEN WHEN HE WAS DRIVING, HE WAS BEATING AND ARGUING WITH THE WOMAN. HE TOLD HER WE GO SO THAT U GIVE ME MY CHILD. THE CHLD WAS IN KITAMBO AT HER BROTHER'S (SIONGO) IN HER GRANDMAS (MUM TO THE SAID WOMAN) HOME. THE ARGUMENT WAS INTENSE THAT BAVON DIDNT NOTICE A LORRY PARKED BY THE ROADSIDE NEAR COSBAKI BAR ON THE WAY TO KINTAMBO. THATS WHERE THEY RAMMED INTO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE LORRY AND BAVON DIED. THE LADY SUSTAIN INJURY ON LEG AND RECOVERED AFTER A YEAR . ON THE RIGHT IS FRERE AIME SIONGO, BAVON ' S SON WHO WAS THE SUBJECT OF THE HEATED PRIOR TO THE ACCIDENT

This is how I came to find Aime Siongo.

They have a cousin that is largely unknown in the most of the music community. He is called Umberto Luambo. Or more known as Humberto Luambo. From Humberto himself

Humberto Luambo is a guitar player who actually throw shows in France to perform songs of the more Congolese Odemba Music and some other music. He is also a promoter for his own shows and does some presentation of old events in the Congo. I mean DRC Congo. Not Congo (well of Brazza).

Here is some clips of Humberto Luambo himself.

Here comes Emongo Luambo. Yves Emongo Luambo that is. Actually he is a organizer now. He and his sister Sonya do organizations for their father's group OK Jazz. In fact they are trying to revamp Le TPOK Jazz into the new generation. More like my generation whom some actually like their dad's music including myself btw. In fact there is a TPOK Jazz band based in Kinshasa (new OK Jazz not the original). One of the front people behind this work alongside Emongo is one of the sons of Djo Mpoyi. He is known as Eric Mpoyi.
Also they are trying get revamp of the old club "Un-Deux-Trois" which a Franco club that came from 1972 up to 1987.

In fact Emongo talked about this plan in this recent documentary of Franco "King of Rumba".

Now I get into Aime Siongo. What he is today. Actually unlike the other two, he has taken a different. In fact he has no connection to Secular Music. He is actually a pastor. A ordained minister preacher I might add. He is a pastor and his job to speak on the word of God (Jesus Christ). He is also a speaker who goes to other churches to speak on God and his grace. If you believe in God, you may like him. Who knows. He resides in Brussels, Belgium.

Here some clips of him.

Soon, I will touch on me and others revamping OK Jazz outside Kinshasa.

Happy New Year friends and followers of my blog and my YouTube life. We enter a new year. It is the year 2015 with so much to do. Hopefully I will do more posts soon but so many things going on, so am I not sure.

Now I am about to touch another important topic. Revival of one powerful band that was once popular in DRC Congo and the whole Africa republic.

It is the band of my first idol Franco. The band Le TPOK Jazz. It symbolizes for Le Tout Puissant OK Jazz. It was originally called L'OK Jazz which based a bar owned by a person name Oscar Kashala or Oscar Kalala. Formed in 1953, it would be a band until 1994. Another version of OK Jazz came with Youlou Mabiala

In Facebook and general, I have heard and even been asked about possibilities of not only revival of OK Jazz in Kinshasa but even in Kenya or even the western areas.

My personal outlook is this. They are possible areas to look for OK Jazz revival if it is to ever be international.

Here are possible areas
Le TPOK Jazz Kinshasa
Le TPOK Jazz Lubumbashi
Le TPOK Jazz Matadi
Le TPOK Jazz Kisangani
Le TPOK Jazz Mbuji-Mayi
Le TPOK Jazz Bukavu

Le TPOK Jazz Arkansas
Le TPOK Jazz Minnesota
Le TPOK Jazz New Mexico
Le TPOK Jazz Kansas

Le TPOK Jazz Kentucky

It is possible for a revamp success of OK Jazz in Kinshasa. I am going to say yes. Here is why? See most of today's Congolese music is not that popular and plus more young people kind want to go back in time before the current Congolese music scene. Furthermore, you have the actual kids of these former OK Jazz musicians doing the forefront which is usually unheard of most famous singer's kids. Usually they want to separate themselves completely from their famous parent life. In fact OK Jazz is overseen by two people. Actually three to be exact. Erick Mpoyi who is the older son of Djo Mpoyi. The other two are Yves Emongo Luambo and Sonya Luambo who are the children of Francois Luambo Makiadi. Erick Mpoyi is a actual choir singer in reality when not involved in OK Jazz activities. TPOK Jazz of Kinshasa can do well because you have people who want to see Luambo's music in a modern sense. Don't believe me. Look here in Franco's documentary "King of Rumba". Look at how the youth really enjoy Luambo's music.

As for OK Jazz revamp going international. Actually it is also very possible. Case in example, the country Kenya. It is a Swahili speaking country but many Kenyans are fans of the OK Jazz. Thanks to Franco coming to Kenya, his legacy stays at a major mark. Also now some people in Kenya want to know Lingala thanks to the music of OK Jazz. Also in Europe, you have some people definitively aware of the music of OK Jazz. Especially in France, UK and Belgium. You have Ntesa's daughter Christelle who did a excellent rendition of her father's classic song Bing na ngai na repsect. It was totally genius work done. Christelle did a excellent job singing. She was on point. Then comes to USA. It is also possible since you have a big population of Africans especially in the Midwest and West area as well as the South and East Coast. Plus in the Midwest, you have Congolese, Nigerians, and Kenyans who are thirsty to find a way to revamp the older music of Franco and his OK Jazz. In fact for example, my state of Minnesota, I found out that they were several African organizations trying to find a way to recoup the older music of African such as Franco and Grand Kalle. This is something that I support strongly. Finally, there are some African descendant folks who want to create posters of African artists or groups. Le TPOK Jazz could be one of them. Yes it is very possible that OK Jazz can become international.

But here is one hurdle of the possibility.
Will the fans of OK Jazz fans come along with this. It is tough to say. It is really half and half. You have OKJ fans like myself who are totally for this and say that we need to find ways to get this going. But then you have others who say that OK Jazz should be left alone because some people don't have good intentions behind this.

It will be a challenge for OK Jazz Kinshasa leading by Emongo Luambo. Because the question is how they find a way to make great in its own right and yet keep the OK Jazz of Luambo Makiadi spirit alive. It will be tough but I am for this. I believe Emongo will succeed. He knows what he is doing and he has been prepared for the success and failures. More importantly with Eric Mpoyi, you got a chance.

Look at this OK Jazz. They look so promising. Add Erick Mpoyi, you have success in the process.
October 2014.

Side-note: Erick Mpoyi is a powerhouse. In my opinion, he is a more powerful singer than his father. I like Djo Mpoyi but his son is too much.

Mayaula Mayoni & Mpongo Love

Hello friends. I am back with something special. It has been weeks. So many problems (as usual) with school things and usual youth crap that I deal with.

Now I look at two people I wish would have made more music together. I am speaking of Mayaula Mayoni and Mpongo Love

These two made one incredible song that I cannot get enough of. That song is Ndaya. It is a song that send Mpongo Love to become one of the earlier pioneers of Congolese Music Diva Scene. In fact there were two singers that came before. They were Abeti Masikini and Mpongo Love. In fact thanks to Abeti Masikini, you got Abby Sourya, Mbilia Bel and even Tshala Muana

This song also helped make Mayaula Mayoni officially as a musician and no longer quite the soccer player that he once was back in the older days. He would later on make some incredible songs such as Mizele, Nabali misere, Bikini, Ousmane Bakyoko.

But however I feel like that Mayaula Mayoni and Mpongo Love missed a oppurtunity to make more music together. Whenever I listen to Ndaya, I see the voices and the guitars together. I think the vocals are Mpongo Love and Empompo Loway who does a great job with his saxophone with the soothing guitar rhythm of Mayoni. This song is a great song and it is beyond just a song. It is a song with message of a true love and a desire for better love within the relationship. Furthermore, you can see the chemistry of Mayuala's guitar and Mpongo Love's vocals. That is why I feel like that Mayoni and Love should have made more music together. Because the chemistry is there and when you have it, you would like to keep going. That is my honest opinion. Had they made more music together, I honestly feel like that they would have had bigger stardom in both of their careers.

But then again that is fantasy. I am so grateful that Mayaula Mayoni and Mpongo Love made a great song together called Ndaya. It is a event that I feel it is not discussed enough by our elders. I am so happy.

In fact this goes along with another announcement:
I will do dream duets during this year. I will do two artists that I feel should have or should work together. I will do all artists. Dead or alive, I will do them.

Dream Duet: Ntesa Dalienst & Papa Wemba

Picture from WorldService (check his blog out, excellent output of classic African Music). Ntesa Dalienst

 Papa Wemba

I am amazed that I have been still going through some stuff. Facebook and College are two interesting entities I can say. But I have had also been dealing with taxes since I did a little work (because I am a college student right now).

Now let me focus on my first post about my series called

DREAM DUETS

Now I am about to speak on two people that I feel should have done a solo project or a duet song for my pleasure. I found two people that should done something together for a great song in a moment during Congolese Music scene during 1970s, 1980s or even 1990s.

I am speaking about OK Jazz alum legend Ntesa Dalienst with Zaiko alum and leader of Viva La Musica Papa Wemba. These two men should have made some music together. In fact I have five reasons why I believe that they should have made joints together.

1) Ntesa is very a variable singer. He has so many styles that he can sing. He can practically sing with anyone
2) Despite being from the Zaiko age, Papa Wemba has always appreciated the older Congolese Rumba music. In fact, he often mentioned Wendo Kolosoythe original founding fathers of Congolese music alongside Grand Kalle
3) As they got older, their voices either remained the same or only got better.
4) Ntesa and Wemba started their musical careers around the same time (right around 1966 to 1968).
5) Papa Wemba has made few songs with some OK Jazz alums. Like Simaro, Josky, Sam Mangwana and Madilu

Here is a young Ntesa here
Here is Papa Wemba singing with Madilu

I feel like that Papa Wemba would gather a little more respect from the Elder Rumba community if he had sang with Ntesa Dalienst in a nice classic rumba odemba song because it would have showcased Wemba's ability to remain himself while Ntesa would bring his unbelievable magic behind a song.

Or even like a soukous style, at least allow song singing magic before the sebene comes along.

Here is one Ntesa song that would be excellent with Wemba.
In this song "Yambi Cherie" originally had Sam Mangwana and Ntesa who were perfect duos in my opinion. But if a remake was to be done with Ntesa, another person was to be added. I would say, I go with Papa Wemba.

Here is a Papa Wemba that I feel that Ntesa Dalienst would fit perfectly.

In this song "Efeka Mandundu" that would have Papa Wemba sing with Wendo whom Wemba adores a lot. But I feel like a remix would be necessary. I think that only away from the Zaiko clan would be Ntesa Dalienst. I believe Ntesa would make the song more normal than Wendo did. Furthermore, this song would be more known if a Ntesa was part of it than a Wendo type.

I will conclude with this: Papa Wemba and Ntesa Dalienst were top notch vocalists. They both sang well in their genres. But I think they would have been a great duo to make some music together. But it is just fantasy. Regardless, I think their collaboration would have been good for the Congolese Music scene as a whole.

Tribute to Ibrahima Sylla

Hello my followers for this blog. I am going to do something special. Actually not that special. This is something that I should have done some months or more a year ago.

Here I come.

As you know that some people have passed away. Some of us have been aware of Syllart Records which has been around for some time. Some of us have only been aware of this label until. His name is here

He is known as Ibrahima Sylla. He is the man who was the founder of Syllart Records.

I don't know much about Sylla but I will brief run on him. He was born in Ivory Coast as a descendant of Guinean and Senegalese blood but he would end up growing up in France. While being a student in France, he decided that he wanted to get his own business. After his education, he would later on find his own label. The Syllart records. This record label would soon become a iconic label. He managed to get many artists under his label.

In fact here are some artists that have worked with him
Pepe Kalle
Tshala Muana
Koffi Olomide
Nyboma
Four Etoiles
Mbilia Bel
Sam Mangwana
Africando
Bembeya Jazz
Fanta Damba
Baaba Maal
Miriam Makeba
Oumou Sangare
Alpha Bondy

For some years, his label becomes the place where he could get many big artists to be in his label. He keeps finding success after success. He later on reissues some classic music of Mariam Makeba and Franco

He passed away around November 2013.

Now looking at his label, I must say I am proud of this man's passion and work.

In fact his label is responsible for the success of my favorite LP "Roger Milla" of Pepe Kalle.

Now Syllart Records is run by his daughter Binetou. Here is a video of her here.

Leçon d'Ibrahima Sylla: L'Unité d'Africaines

Bonjour mes amis.

Dream Duet: Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle

I can see something special here. Now I am going to take two singers that I have felt should done something together. But they are so old, but they have performed together but never did a real duet.

I am speaking about Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle.

I have always said that I feel that one female singer that could have given Aretha Franklin some great challenge would be Patti LaBelle. When I hear some great songs like Chain of Fools, Call Me, and Think, I can hear some great power of Aretha Franklin. Her confidence is so telling behind the success of those songs that I mentioned.

With Patti LaBelle, what shows her great voice. The original song Lady Marmalade. Not the 2001 version but the 1974 version with her former band The Bluebelles. Patti LaBelle could show her ability to give so much powerful under her voice.

I have my reasons why Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle should be duet partners.
1) Their voices are different
2) Aretha definitely should had a female challenger to her voice
3) Patti LaBelle clearly wanted to more like Aretha in her early career before having her own identity.
4) I just think they could have made a good LP collaboration.
5) They have powerful voices like old and young times. No change in their voices by age.

Think I am lying about the voice. Listen to this version of Rolling deep by Aretha. She still sounds fantastic.

Look at Patti LaBelle singing Sam Smith's song Stay with Me. In my opinion, LaBelle sounds better than Sam Smith. Unfortunately in this video, you hear some crazy people occasionally.

Though I feel they should have made a duet or collaboration Lp when they were younger, they are actually great duet partners. Their voices are eternal. Instead having faded voices, they are still very strong. I believe today, if they made a collaboration, people would stand and go nuts.

Aretha Franklin and Patti LaBelle are eternal singers. Their advanced in some cases made their voices stronger. I still feel like that LaBelle and Franklin should come together and do some music together. If they did, I would be the first to listen.

Just look at this brief performance, if it gone longer, I think this would be one great TV moment. Lots of potential. I will leave with that.

Dream Duet: Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige

Here we go with one duet that makes the most sense and the one that would have made some Hip Hop DJs, R&B fans and Gangstas enjoy alike all together.

If I were a nice thug, and I wanted two R&B female singers to make some hits, I kick to Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige who is considered the Queen of Hip Hop Soul in which I agree 100 percent. She was the first R&B artist to really incorporate hip hop successfully into R&B.

Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige would have been made for each other because their voices are different but aggressive. Mary's vocals tend to be more manly with Mariah's vocals tend to be more feminine sound. But they are both passionate singers.

I give some Mary J songs.

I give some Mariah Carey songs

Those songs are great but here two songs from them that would have been better if they sang it together.

The songs No More Drama and Fantasy would have been better sounded if they crossed paths and sang it together. Just my opinion.

Mariah Carey and Mary J Blige should come together and make some records and that way some hip hop fans would be bouncing their heads to their vocals.

Dream Duet: Chaka Khan and Diana Ross

Now when I have been hearing some soul songs and some general R&B songs, I feel these two female singers would have melded together in my opinion if producers recognized this.

I got see something good coming from Chaka Khan and Diana Ross. These are two singers I feel would have been a powerhouse if they made a powerful duet together.

Here are my reasons why I think they should have teamed up.
Only three reasons why.
1) Chaka Khan and Diana Ross are very expressive
2) They have lived some very public things about their personal lives.
3) With their personal lives, they were very inspired and put their emotions into some songs especially love songs.

If Diana Ross and Chaka Khan made a duet together, it would be popping in some people's yards especially older people's yard. You could even have graduation parties play their duet song. Because you would have had two powerful voices singing their butts off.

Here is one song by Chaka Khan that should now include Diana Ross. Her famous song Tell something very good.

Dream Duet: Mariah Carey and Shania Twain

Hello my followers and friends alike. I am hoping you are having a amazed time in your lives. Luckily, I have managed to find some amazing duets. Now I am going to do another dream duet. I am going to do five before the end of March.

I am speaking of Shana Twain and Mariah Carey. These two divas would have been a good duo. Shania Twain is one of the few Country singers that have successfully crossed over to other field where people have no choice but to give her respect. No wonder why when Taylor Swift did more fully, she is a international star and people want to take her out. Mariah Carey loves Hip Hop but she is always been opened to some other music beside the ones that she enjoyed.

Mariah Carey and Shania Twain would have been a perfect duo for some reasons.
1) They are from different genres
2) They both love to be show offs.
3) They are able to meld with anyone.

When I listen to their voices, I can see some notable differences. Mariah's voice is a more soft and tender while Shania's voice is more raunchy and aggressive.

To end this, I got two songs that would have been great for Shania and Mariah to sing their voices together.

Always be my baby

Forever and always

Dream Duet: Celine Dion and Mariah Carey

I am happy to leave the best for last. Because this is the dream duet I believe would have been a great moment in music in American History. Two powerful female singers who can meld their aggressive sounds together.

I am saving the best for last. I am going into two of favorite female singers. Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. These are the two singers that would have been great not only on some records but even make a collaboration album. They were made for each other.

I have too many reasons why they should be duet partners but imagine hearing Mariah's lovely feminine voice and then get the more passionate emotional Celine, you got a song that would move you. I think they could have made some incredible R&B and other slow songs together because their voices would fit into something mellow and lovely.

I also know that when you put these two singers together, you could have unexpected magic. Also it fits since they are different people. Mariah loves the spotlight while Celine is open but very more musical. That in my view is perfect. Because you can take Mariah's addiction of fame and Celine's pure love of music into a song that would move you and make you just appreciate music as it is.

But here is one artist they are both fans of:

Ne-Yo

They have both worked with the great R&B singer and songwriter Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo is known as one singer that helped artists such as Michael Jackson, Mary J Blige, Monica, Mary J. Blige, Usher, Mario and others.

Mariah Carey did a song with Ne-Yo on a song called Angels Cry. It was a popping love song. I enjoyed it a lot when I first heard of this song.
Ne-Yo made a nice pop sound duet with Celine Dion on a song called Incredible. This song is definitely a club banger. Celine Dion sounds perfect.

I think one way that a great duet could be made between Celine Dion and Mariah Carey is have the songwriting and lyrics from Ne-Yo himself. Make sure he can be able to make the song for Celine and Mariah to be able to make the song or songs powerful.

Here are some Mariah performances I enjoy
Here are some Celine's performances I love

I can say those performances show you how great they are. I think they could have more power if they team up and make some records together. I believe this duet is more probable than most of the dream duets that I can imagine.

I am fortunate to both hear their voices and know their music as much as I can. There are some songs of other artists and themselves that I believe would have fitted Mariah Carey and Celine Dion together.

Immortality

I'll Be There (The Mariah Carey version)
I still believe
The way it is
Always be my baby
What's Going On (Marvin Gaye)
Angel (Aretha Franklin)
You've got a friend (Carol King)
Imagine (John Lennon)

I will end by saying that if there is one duet that needs happen is seeing the vocals of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey in a great song. This is a duet I think would make the most sense. This dream duet would make sense totally.

Later on, I will look for more songs or causes of I want to see a duet of Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. This is one of the dream duets that I really hold to my heart.

Hello my friends, in the Easter weekend, it is the time for me to speak one person that has so much greatness in Congolese Music. It is someone that does not get appreciated enough in my opinion.

I am going into the reflection with the poet of Congolese Music. His name is Lutumba Simaro or some call him Simaro Masiya. Simaro is one special artist who always hold a great put into the Congolese Music scene.

He was born in 1938. He would start his music career with some local bands before his life totally changed. He would join the great Congolese band Le TPOK Jazz with the leadership of then the young Franco. He would eventually become vice-president of OK Jazz after the departure of Vicky Longomba. Simaro and Franco would become a force in their songs. Franco had a tendency to be more straight forward and somewhat tough in his songs. Simaro had a tendency to be more colorful and more poetic and flowering like in his songs.

Through out Simaro's musical career, he managed to make songs like Maya, Mabele, Andre Kisangani, Ofela, Kadima, and many others. Simaro would finally be able to lead his own band after Franco's death in 1989 before he made Bana OK in 1994. Simaro has and is still faithful in Kinshasa. He has never lived in Europe.

Now Simaro is a retired musician. He is living and resting well in Kinshasa. He has lived 77 years in this earth.

Simaro is one of the few musicians from the second generation to be with us. I am so grateful to know the music of Simaro Lutumba. Lutumba will always be one great moment for Congolese Music forever.

I just hope that one day that the Congolese society in Kinshasa will make a memorial for Lutumba Simaro like they have done for Franco and Tabu Ley

Mes paroles de la chanson Dadou

Bonjour mes amis. Mes amis chrétiens. Mes amis hindous. Mes amis musulmans.

Dream Duet: Franco and Michael Jackson

This is an controversial post. I apologize for not posting a long time. I have been busy like heck. So much going on.

I am going to do a duet that most people will hate but I see as a legitimate post. Before I mention these men. Let me put in proper context.

As many of you guys know, Franco or some call Francois Luambo Makiadi was a Zairian artist or Congolese Artist. He was from Zaire or called Democratic Republic of Congo. He was the number one artist in the country and he was a great legend. He is still a great legend. One reason why probably Franco is not recognized in the west was because he did give much shit about western music though he liked some of it, he never cared for most of the artists especially James Brown. It was said some years ago back in 1969, some USA producers tried to get Franco and James Brown together but it went bad because Franco believed that James Brown was a piece of shit. Ouch. Franco also said that he did not want to hear anything of James Brown because he is not special to begin with. Franco had a few chances to work with western artists but he refused. Franco had no desire to sing with western artists.

But as we know a lot of people like compare Franco to a western artist especially American. Some say James Brown. Others say Elvis Pressely. Others say Sam Cooke. But I don't believe that Franco would be good to sing with those three. There is only one American artist I think that could do some work with Franco.

That is Michael Jackson. I know some of you guys hate Michael Jackson. But Michael Jackson is an icon. He is worshiped like nuts. Plus Unlike James Brown, Michael Jackson really used some African sounds from people in a few of his songs. For example, his song "Wanna Be Starting Something", he used the line "Soul Makossa" from an artist name Manu Dibango who was a member of the group Africa Jazz which had great founder of Congolese music Grand Kalle. Grand Kalle was the founder of Congolese Music as a whole. Grand Kalle and Manu Dibango were dynamic when they were together. Unlike James Brown, Michael Jackson actually made efforts to try to make Africa better especially with food.

I know with Franco, he was not a big western fan, but Michael Jackson would be the ideal artist to sing with Franco. First of all, his voice is so different from Franco. Franco is a deep singer with a low classical baritone. Whereas Michael Jackson kind of sound womanly yet masculine in his voice. Remember Franco sings well with people of very different voice. Madilu System, Sam Mangwana, Youlou Mabiala, and Vicky Longomba as examples. Also, Franco and Michael Jackson would able to complete each-other as each has weakness. I believe Franco would enjoy Michael Jackson as he had a warm heart and he actually tries to relate to the artist himself. Final reason is that Michael Jackson does Youlou, Vicky, Sam, and Madilu do. He would be able to add the soul element but do in a way that makes it unique. Michael Jackson would ooze Franco with his soulful aggressive voice. I believe Franco would love that and he would feed on that himself.

Only downside of them together is that Franco never knew a English let alone a sentence in English for that matter. Since Michael Jackson only knew English, it would pose a problem. But I think that can be helped by a translator. Since we have translators, I believe that they would have been a way for these two men to be together.

Since people love to compare these two (though it is a horrible idea in my opinion), I believe that Franco's good western collaboration would have been with Michael Jackson. Plus Franco was the bigger star in African's eyes than Michael Jackson. That is another this would have been a great collaboration. Because Franco would have the upper hand and not Michael Jackson.

If Franco and Michael Jackson sang together, I think truly Americans would have adored Franco to death and Congolese people would appreciate Michael Jackson much more. Cross culture would have been done well if American producers found the right ways to get these two to sing together.

L'Importance de musique de Zaiko

Bonjour mes amis.

Dream Duet: Nyoka Longo and Nyboma

I am so happy that find a dream duet involving these two people. Actually Nyboma has practically worked with almost every Congolese musician you could think of. Tabu Ley, Pepe Kalle, Koffi Olomide, Papa Wemba, Josky Kiambukuta, and others to name.

But there is one person that he has yet to work with and I wished he did earlier in his career. It was with Nyoka Longo. I think Nyoka Longo likes a very normal singer. I mean look at Adamo Ekula (who is a natural singer). I think these men would have been a great duo.

Here is my reason, since Nyboma can sing at any level, he can the shining moment here while Nyoka Longo will be able to be the one giving heavy assistance for Nyboma. That way, we could be able to hear some strong medley between them.

Here are few songs of Nyboma, I think would have been perfect with Nyoka Longo.

My point is that Nyoka Longo and Nyboma should have had a song that was special and would have them give eachother's feed back.
